the end

Dear Supporters of Leeway-25 Expedition

We need your help once more for a final time.

After some careful considerations, taking into account the prevailing winds, our financial situation as well as our timeline, we are very sorry to announce that Leeway-25 has come to an end.

Due to a number of setbacks, such as a very difficult summer weatherwise, long delays during the built and the unexpected quitting of two crewmembers, the odds haven't been in our favor from the start.

As this is a mostly self-funded expedition and despite the many generous supporters and sponsors, for which we are grateful beyond words, we have run out of money and time.

However we can proudly say that we have made the best of it. We implemented the guara-steering techniques with great success, despite strong currents and winds, being now able to produce a first written account of the working of it. The raft has proven to be a slow, but reliable vessel, stable also in rougher seas and very sensitive to steer and control.

This being said, this is not the end of it.

Noe is determined to make this journey west in the following year, after the raft has dried up and received some minor improvements. With the situation being what it is, this will call for a new crew. In other words, there are a few slots open for those interested, so please reach out to him via this account.

Again we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the love and support you've given us. It's been an incredible ride and we are grateful to all our supporters who have made it possible. A special thank you also for the many helpers, that have joined a tough buildibg phase bringing all their own unique skillset and knowledge to help us!

Stay tuned for the upcoming movie produced by Lucien and hopefully the follow-up next year!

But!

For all this to happen, it is of the upmost importance to find a place to take the raft out of the water and let it dry for the coming year. You'e been incredibly helpful so far and we're counting on you to be as eager to see a continuation as us!

We're currently based in Veiholmen close to Kristiansund and Trondheim. The raft has a lenghts of 14.9m, a width of 6m and a mast of 13m. It weights about 25t. Please share this post and reach out if you have any information or contacts to shipwrights, shipyards or docks with the capabilities to take such a vessel on land and store it for a year

Even places at which we have less time to store it will give us valuable time to find another spot later in the year.

Anything helps!
